Federick Dalton Thompson, nicknamed Fred was born August 19, 1942. He has been a lawyer, lobbyist and an actor on the hit show Law & Order among others. He was a Tennessee Republican in the US Senat from 1994 to 2003. He now resides in McLean, Virginia which in near Washington DC.
Mr. Thompson is a member of the Councial on Foreign Relations, Visiting Fellow with the American Enterprise Institute, also involved with national security and intelligence.
He hasn't officially become a candidate for the presidential race for 2008 but says he will do so after Labor day of 2007.
